Shipping and Delivery

At Fabhaus Art Gallery + Fare, we take extra care when preparing artwork for delivery. Every original piece is carefully packaged to help protect it during handling and transportation.

Because artwork varies considerably in size, weight, framing and value, shipping costs are calculated individually rather than included in the artwork price.

Artwork Shipping

For artwork purchased online, you can indicate at checkout that shipping is required.

A member of our team will contact you within 1–2 business days to confirm the shipping details and provide a shipping quote.

Your quote may take into account:

  • Artwork dimensions and weight
  • Framing and packaging requirements
  • Delivery destination
  • Shipping method
  • Insurance or additional coverage
  • Special handling requirements

Shipping costs are not included in the displayed artwork price.

Once you receive the shipping quote, you can approve or decline the shipping arrangement before the artwork is dispatched.

Payment for Shipping

Once the shipping quote has been approved, the shipping fee must be paid separately by:

  • E-transfer, or
  • Payment by phone

The artwork will be dispatched once the shipping fee has been received.

Careful Packaging

Original artwork is packaged according to the size, materials, frame and shipping requirements of the individual piece.

Depending on the artwork, packaging may include:

  • Protective wrapping
  • Corner protection
  • Bubble wrap or cushioning
  • Rigid cardboard or protective board
  • Reinforced outer packaging
  • Additional protection for framed artwork

Fragile items should be surrounded by cushioning on all sides and secured to limit movement during transportation.

For particularly large, valuable or delicate artwork, we may recommend a specialized shipping or delivery service rather than standard parcel delivery.

Shipping Insurance & Coverage

Where available and appropriate, Fabhaus may arrange additional shipping coverage based on the value of the artwork.

The amount and availability of coverage can vary depending on the carrier, service and type of artwork being shipped. For example, Canada Post’s available liability coverage and restrictions vary by service and item.

Any additional insurance or shipping coverage will be discussed as part of your shipping quote.

Tracking

When tracking is available, tracking information will be provided once the artwork has been shipped.

Please keep the tracking information until your artwork has been safely received.

Delivery times are estimates provided by the selected carrier and may be affected by weather, holidays, remote delivery locations, carrier delays or other circumstances outside Fabhaus’ control.

Large & Oversized Artwork

Larger artwork may require specialized packaging, transportation or delivery arrangements.

For oversized pieces, a member of our team will work with you to determine the safest and most practical shipping option.

In some cases, this may involve:

  • Specialized art transportation
  • Freight delivery
  • Local or regional delivery
  • White-glove delivery
  • Arranged pickup

A separate quote will be provided before any additional shipping or delivery charges are incurred.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available from:

Fabhaus Art Gallery + Fare
430 Queen St.
Blyth, Ontario
N0M 1H0

If you choose local pickup at checkout, there is no shipping charge.

We will contact you when your artwork is ready for pickup and arrange a suitable pickup time.

Please bring an appropriate vehicle for larger artwork. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the artwork can be safely transported from the gallery.

Local Delivery

Local or regional delivery may be available for certain artwork and destinations.

If available, delivery arrangements and pricing will be discussed with you before the artwork is delivered.

Receiving Your Artwork

When your artwork arrives, we recommend inspecting the package before opening it.

If the outer packaging appears significantly damaged, please photograph the packaging before opening it.

After opening the package, carefully inspect the artwork for any damage.

If you believe your artwork has been damaged during shipping, please contact Fabhaus as soon as possible and provide:

  • Your order number
  • Photographs of the exterior packaging
  • Photographs of the internal packaging
  • Photographs of the artwork
  • A description of the damage

Please retain the original packaging and all packing materials until the issue has been resolved. This may be required when making a carrier claim.

Damaged or Lost Shipments

We take care when packaging artwork, but damage or loss can occasionally occur during transportation.

If your artwork arrives damaged or does not arrive as expected, please contact us promptly. We will work with you and the shipping provider to determine the appropriate next steps.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include a carrier claim, repair, replacement where possible, or refund in accordance with our Refund & Returns Policy.

Because original artwork is one-of-a-kind, a damaged original generally cannot be replaced with an identical piece.

Shipping Outside Canada

At this time, shipping availability may vary depending on the artwork and destination.

International orders may be subject to additional:

  • Customs duties
  • Taxes
  • Brokerage fees
  • Import charges
  • Documentation requirements

Any applicable charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the purchaser unless otherwise stated.

Shipping Address

Please make sure your shipping address is accurate and complete when placing your order.

Fabhaus is not responsible for additional shipping charges resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer.

If you notice an error in your shipping information after placing an order, contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to make corrections before the order is dispatched.

Shipping Times

Because original artwork is carefully packaged individually, orders requiring shipping are generally processed after the shipping arrangement has been confirmed and payment for shipping has been received.

Your estimated delivery timeframe will depend on:

  • Artwork preparation
  • Packaging requirements
  • Shipping service
  • Destination
  • Carrier availability

We will provide available delivery information when your shipping quote is prepared.
